Forecasts and a summary of news from the Breakbulk magazine – what is happening on the market

The idea of transporting goods in containers is not new. According to the ch2m wiki, the ancient Greeks used clogged amphorae to transport olive oil and wine. Thanks to the wide use of containers, cargo transportation was great in cost, labor, and unreliability, considering how many hands have the goods passed. As the ch2m hill wiki says, the use of containers in the modern sense of the word began more than 50 years ago.

Projections and market situation

The main part of sea container transportations is exported by grain, metallurgical and ore products, forests. The volumes of export of these goods do not fall. Due to the drop in imports, there is a shortage of empty containers, so they plan to import them specifically for export.

The Ministry of Infrastructure forecasts that the next year will be difficult for the maritime container shipping market. However, after the economic crisis, the economy and trade, in particular, are always on the rise. Therefore, it is necessary to think positively and develop new, more economically effective areas of export-import cooperation. The cheapest international delivery of any goods is provided by sea container transportation.

International maritime transport: development prospects

Sea cargo transportation between different countries is the most profitable kind of transportation of goods from all modern available types now. Statistics show that at least 60 percent of payments to the state budget of many countries are made by ports. At the same time, if we take into account the overall turnover of goods, in this case almost a third of the total foreign trade of the country is due to sea freight.

Should the market of sea cargo transportation expect the collapse?

Hundreds of seaports today are involved in shipping between countries. If we talk about the trends in the development of this high-yielding direction, then the experts, in this case, show some caution. On the one hand, interest in the transportation of goods only increases (for example, China chooses the sea freight of goods now much more often than by land transport), because of which rates are constantly growing. On the other hand, fuel prices continue to increase, which causes a slowdown in the development of the goods transportation by sea. However, for the same reason, the market of the road and air cargo transportation is not particularly developing.

In fact, not everything is as bad as it seems at first glance. The increase in rates for transportation by sea is significant, thanks to which the market maintains an optimal balance even in spite of the rise in the price of fuel.
