A steam generator shell manufactured at OAO PetrozavodskMash production site arrived at machine building plant ZiO-Podolsk (part of Rosatom machine building division – AtomEnergoMash). The shell is intended for manufacturing of the steam generator for Novovoronezh NPP-2 second unit. A ceremonial load-out of the first shell took place on May 29 in the city of Petrozavodsk.
This item was first shipped by water to South Port in Moscow, and then hauled to Podolsk by motor transport. For the first time in ZiO-Podolsk history, such an outsized equipment as a steam generator shell, is delivered by combined method.
Within the framework of modernization program under implementation at ZiO-Podolsk, and in order to use new, more efficient transport and logistics schemes of equipment delivery and shipment, a set of measures to modernize the plant transport infrastructure has been performed. For example, four road sections were widened enroute of the haul rig, with pipelines and piperacks lifted.
ZiO-Podolsk will carry out assembly of the steam generator with in-vessel internals, after which the steam generator package will hit the road to Novovoronezh NPP-2. This being said, OAO AtomEnergoMash mastered the whole chain of steam generator production for NPP – from raw items to assembly.
