The 1st skyscraper in the whole world appeared in the USA in 1885. It was a Home Building Insurance built in Chicago and its height was 10 floors.
For a long time, the US was considered the world leader in the number of buildings-skyscrapers. At the end of the last century, the rapid construction of skyscrapers began in such countries as China, Hong Kong & the Emirates. For 2011, only 4 of the 25 highest buildings on the planet were located on the US territory.
The highest building in the US is located in Chicago city. After completion in 2013 year, the first building, which is also known as the Freedom Tower, with a total height of 541 meters is actually the highest skyscraper in the US but still not in the whole world.
This skyscraper is considered the main building of the new World Trade Center, the construction of which continues to this day. The building is located in Lower Manhattan & covers an area of 65,000 m2.

Chrysler Building, according to many architects, is the most beautiful building in New York. The famous skyscraper was considered the tallest building in the world for 11 months until this title passed to the New York’s Empire State Building.
The undisputed leader of the rating, the tallest building in the world, is Dubai’s Burj Khalifa skyscraper. The construction in the form of a giant stalagmite was started in 2010 in the UAE. Its height is 828 m, including a sharp spire 180 meters long. This building holds laurels of the tallest man-built building on the planet for the last ten years. The structure belongs to the largest Dubai complex, including the hotel, shopping centers, offices, residential apartments, gyms, swimming pools, Jacuzzis, and observation platforms.
Prudential Plaza 2 is the sixth tallest building in Chicago & the sixteenth in the US. The skyscraper received 8 awards for its architecture. On one of the floors of Prudence Plaza 2 is the Consulate General of Canada.
The Grohmann tower, which is located in Milwaukee, could have entered into this list but now it is only in the Milwaukee’s local list.
