Description of lifting systems category – all information on how these devices function

Lifting systems are used to lift and move heavy loads of large dimensions in all spheres of human industrial activity.

The technical characteristics of bridge cranes allow this category of GPM to be used both for internal loading and unloading and for outdoor work in any climatic conditions. Cranes can be seen on any construction site. It is the place where they pull their powerful paws. Movable vehicles can extend their telescopic boom hydraulically powered up to 130 feet and easily lift 45 tons of construction cargo thereon. Removing the moving part of the arrow inside, such a crane is sized to fit with a normal truck and just rides further where necessary. The winch lock n lift mechanism controls the cable that is lowered from the boom. A cargo is attached to this cable by means of a hook. When the winch starts to wind the cable, the load rises. The system of multiple blocks and cables between the hook and the boom reduces the effort that must be applied to the winch to lift the load.

Gravity center of the crane

When the cranes lift heavy loads, they rely on cantilever beams or stabilizers to avoid overturning. Each such beam acts as a fulcrum of the lever weights. With its help, the lifted load is balanced by the weight of the crane itself. The retractable legs of the support beam are made of steel, aluminum or nylon. Each leg can be individually raised and lowered until the tap is in the desired position.

Boom truck

Two hydraulic cylinders of the lifting system control the movement of the boom. One cylinder raises and lowers the arrow, while the other lengthens and shortens it.

Instrument panel

Onboard computers monitor the operation of the crane: the weight of the load, the angle of lifting and the length of the boom, the angle of inclination of the crane itself, and in some models, even at the speed of the wind. The longer the boom is extended horizontally, the less load the crane can carry without risk of overturning.

Installation of overhead crane

The bridge GPM requires the completion of the working site – you need to build a crane track.

Rail track can be mounted on a special crane overpass, or for its construction, the floor, columns, and pillars of the building are used.
