INCOTECH CARGO transported 800 tons of large-bore pipes manufactured at Izhora pipe mill and intended for a Gazprom subsidiary – ZAO YamalGazInvest.
The pipe transportation route passed from Izhora pipe mill in Kolpino to one of the terminals in the Big Port of Saint Petersburg, where the items were reloaded on river-sea dry cargo ships by means of gantry cranes.
For the sake of transport, the company used its own haul rig mounted on MAN tractor unit with GoldHofer STZ-L semitrailer, lifting capacity being 93.2 tons. Its overall length with extension reaches 19.6 meters with the loading platform length of 15.4 meters. A total of 23 trips were made under this contract.
18-meter pipes, 1,420 mm in diameter, wall thickness of 27.7 mm and 23.0 mm, are intended for construction of Bovanenkovo-Ukhta gas pipeline, Phase 2. Pipe length up to 18.3 meters allows the number of welded joints at the main line to be reduced by 1.5 times. Thanks to this, pipeline reliability is increased and consumer’s expenses are reduced.
From the Port of St. Petersburg, the ships carrying LB piping from Izhora pipe mill will pass through the Neva and Lake Ladoga, and then along the Svir River and Lake Onega to the Belomor-Baltic Sea Canal leading to the White Sea. They will travel across the sea to deliver the pipes to the Kara Strait and Baydaratskaya Bay where they are planned to be discharged.
The Bovanenkovo-Ukhta main gas pipeline system is designed to supply gas from Yamal Peninsula to Russia’s North-West and on to the European consumers. Izhora pipe mill has been supplying products for the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta gas pipeline since 2008. Overall for the project, Izhora pipe mill has shipped more than 700 thousand tons of K60 and K65 strength grade pipes, 1,420 mm in diameter, since 2008.
