OAO VolgogradNefteMash is completing execution of a major order from PAO Gazprom Neft to manufacture unique equipment for AO Moscow Refinery and AO Omsk Refinery as part of the state import substitution program.
On June 7, a ceremonial mass meeting took place in the company’s boiler-welding shop which was devoted to commencement of oversize cargo shipment. The column with a height of about 50 meters, weighing over 160 tons, is installed on the platform which will soon leave for VolgogradNefteMash jetty.
As of today, 14 HP heat exchangers with Breech Lock devices released for Moscow Refinery are ready for dispatch. Previously equipment of this type was manufactured only by foreign companies. The heat exchangers will be operated as part of unique combined oil refining unit Euro+: the key project of Moscow Refinery integrated modernization which is now under implementation by Gazprom Neft. Ten more similar heat exchangers are being manufactured by the company for Omsk Refinery hydrocracking unit. The weight of the largest item comes to 200 tons.
Moreover, five oversize columns will be fabricated for Omsk Refinery. The height of the biggest of them – atmospheric – is 71 meters, diameter – 8 meters, and weight – 514 tons.
It is worth mentioning that the first import-substituting products were manufactured by VolgogradNefteMash 65 years ago, when the first domestic cracking unit of 43-102 type (Kuybyshev Refinery) was manufactured and installed. After that, no import cracking equipment was ever purchased by USSR. Further on, expansion of cracking units’ capacity and improvement of petroleum products quality was done using domestic equipment.
