IAA: general information about the event

IAA is Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung, which is considered the largest motor show in the whole world. The event is always attended by the giants of the industry. The show is carried out every year.

The IAA is divided into two parts. One of them is devoted to the commercial vehicles (such as the ones made by Nooteboom) and is organized in Hannover, while the other one is carried out in Frankfurt am Main and is dedicated to the passenger vehicles and motorcycles. However, the whole event used to be organized only in Frankfurt. The situation changed in 1991.

The key organizer of the show is Association of the German Automotive Industry. The programme of the event always includes exhibitions, press days, demonstrations, and the other facilities.

The first show of such type appeared in 1897 in Berlin. As soon as automobiles became more widespread, the event was transformed into a fixed show in Germany. There was at least one show every year during that time.

In the course of time, the event was changing. New facilities were added. For instance, in 2011, the Hall of Electric Mobility became the latest addition.
