Deliveries of equipment for the combined cycle (steam and gas) power unit under construction (capacity – 330 MW) are still ongoing to Novogorkovskaya CHP of OAO TGK-6 Nizhny Novgorod Branch. The gas insulated switchgear (GIS) manufactured at Alstom Grid works in France was delivered to construction site.
The plant also received the shipment of two HV power transformers with the capacity of 225 MVA, produced by OAO ZaporozhTransformator (Ukraine).
“Delivery and shipment of the transformers was a substandard engineering challenge. Each of them weighs more than 150 tons. This oversized cargo arrived at Kstovo by unique double low-bed 8-axle railway platforms and then taken to site by heavy motor transport,” said Aleksandr Polkovnikov, Novogorkovsky Branch Director on KES Holding priority investment project implementation.
The Novogorkovskaya CHP Rehabilitation Project Rubin is under implementation within the framework of KES Holding investment program called Diadem. New equipment of Novogorkovskaya CHP will include two Alstom-produced gas turbines with the rating of 165 MW each, and two waste-heat boilers manufactured by Podolsk Machine-Building Plant. Construction started in December 2012, and the facility is planned to be put into service in 2014. The project cost exceeds RUB 12 billion.
