Transhipment Complex Makes the Road Shorter

The Baltica vessel of Finnlines shipping line delivered an oversize cargo – a ring, more than 7 meters in diameter and weighing 21.5 tons – to the Port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad Oblast), namely to jetties of Yug-2 multipurpose transhipment complex, as reported by press service of OAO Ust-Luga Commercial Sea Port.

The cargo is designated for the fabrication line of one of the timber factories located in the Central Federal District.

“Dimensions of the item which had been manufactured on the territory of EU implied particular conditions of delivery and shipping. Oversize freight handling capacities of the YUG-2 MTC terminal met these conditions above all. On-carriage of the load was effected by motor transport,” says the message.

Taking into account location of the terminal and convenient motor road link with an exit to the federal highway Rossiya, delivery of outsized freight of this size through the YUG-2 MTC terminal is an optimal logistics option.

OAO Ust-Luga Commercial Sea Port is the operator of port services at the Multipurpose Transhipment Complex YUG-2 (MTC YUG-2) and the Auto-Railway Ferry Complex (ARFC).
