We’ve prepared a short overview of several successful projects in heavy lifts. Each of them requires high technical skills and individual approach to succeed in the most challenging requests.
The first wind generator in Turaif
The project on raising the first wind power plant in Saudi Arabia was carried out by Gulf Haulage Heavy Lift Company. Liebherr LR 1750 crawler crane has become the instrument for lifting a 84 m construction weighing 410 tons total, following by works on assembling 60 m long blades. Specific complexity of the project was in selecting right timing between the intervals of strong wind rushes in order to perform construction works. Actual implementing this heavy lift project lasted no more than 48 hours, and a new wind generator has become a part of the national project on generating clean energy.
World’s greatest commercial lift
ALE Company managed to carry out the heaviest lift for commercial purposes with a help of land-based AL.SK350 crane in Brazil in January of 2017. Moving M9 module with a weight of over 3,000 tons was a part of Brazilian Floating Production, Storage and Offloading project, and was finished beforetime. The crane had a 130 m high A-shape construction with 18 m base; 4,000 tons balance was used.
Lifting concrete beams during Panama City Metro construction
Mamut de Colombia implemented a successful heavy lift project, raising 1,640 concrete modules to be mounted on top of pillars as a part of construction of the line 2 of Panama City Metro. Being 20 to 30 m long and having 5 m width, each part had a weight up to 161 tons; two Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 mobile cranes were used for this challenge.
Heavy lift crane lifting a helicopter
After the rough landing of a helicopter on a deck of a floating production, storage and offloading unit in Brazil basin, it was successfully lifted by SSCV OOS Gretha heavy lift construction. Gretha turned out to be the only machine, which was capable to perform a fast and secure helicopter lift on an oil platform in the sea.
Drive System lifting with a help of two Demag cranes
A 200-ton drive system was loaded on a ship in Kehl port with a help of two Demag AC 500-8 and Demag AC 700-9 all terrain cranes. The design of MSG Krandienst team helped to lift a tunnel boring machine drive and to move it with a great accuracy. 12 m long star-shaped base has been used in order to provide the required stability.
